WWE: 10 Reasons John Cena Heel Turn Would Be A Mistake

2. It Needs To Be Shocking

Remember that time when Brock Lesnar defeated The Undertaker at WrestleMania? Of course you do. It was the biggest highlight of the event, and it was a moment so shocking that even non wrestling fans were talking about it the next day. That shocking moment, the purity of the fan reactions, is something that Cena€™s heel turn should be looking for. Have the cameras focus on the crowd at just the right time, and watch as all those members of the WWE Universe wearing their Cena shirts and holding up their Cena signs drop their jaws and collectively gasp at what just occurred. Right now, everyone is expecting a heel turn. If Cena does turn, people are going to say they saw it coming. When it came to Taker€™s streak, a very small number of people believed that Lesnar would actually win and end the streak for good. Cena€™s turn needs to arrive at a moment when very few would believe that Cena is actually going to turn. When you don€™t see the punch coming, it hits that much harder. A Cena heel turns needs to have that emotional punch to the gut that will continue to be felt for the at least a week if not longer.
