WWE: 10 Reasons Why Michael Cole Needs To Be Removed As The 'Voice'

2. After Working In A Pro-Wrestling Company For 15 Years He Had To Ask What "Shoot the Half" Meant

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7YgKsJultY Although I have discussed many reasons as to why this buffoon should be fired, but the only one that you simply can't argue with is the fact that he has worked for the WWE, World WRESTLING Entertainment since 1997 and after all of those years he found the need to ask this question last year live on Smackdown. I was in complete shock. The exasperation I heard on Booker T's and Josh Mathews voices in response to this was absolutely priceless. They were just as shocked as I was. For those not in the know, "shoot the half" describes when you have to hook an opponents arm with yours (a "half nelson" in technical terms) to turn them over while they are on the ground, rolling them onto their back for the pin. It's pretty much a term taught to us all in the first days of becoming fans, a term that has been synonymous with wrestling since day one, and this guy didn't even know what it meant after 15 years on the job. 15 YEARS. There is no justification for that type of ignorance. It's like working in the pool industry for 15 years and not knowing about pool filters. That question alone should've at the very least got him demoted back to "Superstars". And on top of that he still to this day gets basic wrestling moves wrong. A power slam and a body slam are two completely different moves. A running sidewalk slam or "bossman slam" and a side slam are two completely different moves. He constantly refers to Dolph Ziggler's "famouser" as the "zigzag", his actual finisher. I could go on all day but you get the jist. No one in the history of workplace relations could be this bad at their job and still get to keep it. As I pointed out in my intro to this article, Mike Adamle's time in the WWE is completely lambasted and ridiculed but for everything he may have done wrong, he only had 6 months in the job to learn the intricacies of pro wrestling. Michael Cole has been given 15 years and he still can't get it right. 15 years worth of stuff ups without so much as a pay cut. But even if this may explain the reason why he has to go, there is still one other point I have to make as to show why he is the worst play by play guy in the history of any sports industry....

Passions in life: Movies, Music and Wrestling....My childhood was spent growing up in the "Outback" of Australia (I'm a little bit country) and my adulthood resided within the city limits (I'm a little bit rock and roll), so you could say that I am the best (or worst) of both worlds. A 6 foot 7 ex wannabe pro wrestler (whose career was cut short due to a busted back, NOT caused by wrestling) & muso who has a precocious cat & a habit of doing the wrong thing but for the right reasons. The story of my life???? All demos, no albums ;)
