WWE: 10 Rivalries That Were Too Personal To Be Fake

5. Bret Hart And Ric Flair

This is one of those rivalries where there are a lot of comments from both guys on their issues with one another. Flair put over Hart for the WWE Title back in September 1992 and Hart claims that even though people think Flair is a great worker, Hart felt like Flair didn't do a great job of putting him over. Hart wasn't shy about talking about Flair's antics back in 1992: €œFlair was a tricky guy to work with, when I worked with Ric. When he was champion we had much better matches and the moment the title got switched we seemed to screw up my match every night. I always felt it was sabotage. I actually went to Vince, cause (Flair) was leaving the company I thought he was purposely screwing up to ruin my run. I think over a period of time over the next few weeks I can remember Vince coming up to me saying he didn€™t think Flair was doing it on purpose €“ that he just didn€™t know what he was doing. I kind of agreed after a while. Ric Flair, as great was and a hard worker as he was, he just tends to get lost in the ring.€ Here's Flair talking about Hart: "He is a piss-ant in the history of wrestling. He has the nerve to compare himself to me! Let's get realistic. If you put Bret Hart in your left hand and me in your right hand, compare the career who is he? I wrestled everybody in the business, for an hour each night. Harley Race, Dory Funk, Jack and Jerry Brisco, who is Bret Hart? He is a legend in his own mind. He lives in his own little world...he screws his own family around. Who is Bret Hart? In my world he is a nobody!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDK2gv5-niM The rivalry has continued over the years as neither man has really gone out of their way to compliment the other. Both are considered WWE Legends that appear for the company from time to time, but they likely maintain the same level of dislike for one another that they have had all these years. It's a shame when two of the best ever don't get along. In the wrestling business, though, it's bound to happen sometimes.
