WWE: 10 Rivalries That Were Too Personal To Be Fake
3. Booker T And Batista
Batista was a top guy in WWE following his WrestleMania 21 main event WWE Title win over Triple H. Sometimes what happens when guys become main eventers they develop a big ego. Batista ended up making some comments about the Smackdown brand (when he was on Raw) that led to him getting a lot of heat and he wasn't the most liked guy on Smackdown because of it. Their fight happened during a May 2006 photo shoot for a SummerSlam commercial they were filming. Tensions got so high between the two men that they went into a room to settle it like men by fighting. Most of the stories about the fight claim that Booker T won the battle. Apparently Batista had scars on his face to prove it, but there weren't enough witnesses to know the true story. The Batista/Booker fight is one of those things that was actually chronicled by WWE even though it was definitely not scripted. Batista did talk about it on WWE.com: "We had to get past this. It had been brewing for a long time. Its over. We will agree to disagree. We wont be friends, but we will work together. I can promise you we wont cause problems." http://youtu.be/D-yxMIQjCUE Apparently, Vince McMahon was so impressed by Booker's act of toughness that he put the World Title on him two months after the fight. Later in the year at Survivor Series, Batista feuded with Booker and there were no incidents. Batista was the babyface, so he won the feud and became the World Champion once again. It was apparently one of those things that they needed to get out of their systems. Once they got past it they realized they could work together. It was a case of two veteran guys doing what was best for the business they loved.
