WWE: 10 Steps To Booking Sting For WrestleMania 30 (And Beyond)
5. Randy Orton
Randy Orton is the current WWE Champion and looks set to headline Wrestlemania 30. I expect him to lose the belt at the New Orleans show, from there contending a rematch series through the spring. By Summerslam Orton will probably be without the title and without a program. What Orton will need isn't a repackaging, but a resharpening of what made him great. Randy should re-seize his 'Legend Killer' gimmick, making this clear in a vicious attack on Sting. The WCW icon could be wrote out of TV for a while, but then scheduled to return at Summerslam for a revenge match. It would be a great sell - Legend vs Legend Killler, with revenge on the line. With Sting off TV for a few weeks it would also make the PPV feel more special as fans would be seeing him return. Needless to say, Orton would be Sting's biggest match yet, in a huge setting to boot. The win here would fully establish Sting as a major force in the WWE. From this point the company could trade on Sting's name even more, fan perception would be all round high and it would be the perfect time for the company to release some Sting merchandise and a DVD.
