10 Steps To Booking Ronda Rousey As WWE Divas Champion
5. WrestleMania 32
After a six-week build that sees Steph spectacularly stack the deck against Ronda - we vote she brings in the impressive (READ: f*cking scary) Nia Jax as an "insurance policy", as well as keep those pesky J and J chaps close - the two put on an entertaining spectacle at The Grandaddy of Them All in Dallas, with Steph playing the cowardly, nasty heel as well as we know she can, and Ronda trying to cope with endless interference and distraction to put the Billion Dollar Princess away. Halfway through the match, however, a shock occurs - Nia Jax turns her back on Steph! WTF?! It will later be revealed, of course, that Nia and her cousin The Rock had a sneaky tête-à-tête earlier, and with The Rock facing Steph's hubby later that night...well...you know...blood is thicker than water and all that. It does mean, however, that the deck is a bit more even, and sure enough, Ronda gets the W, tapping Steph out to an armbar (obviously!) and drawing this feud to a close. That, however, is just the beginning. In a backstage interview later that night, Ronda reveals that she's not simply content with getting one over on Steph - she wants to fights in WWE, and she'll be back for that Women's Title*. Which, of course, is now owned by one Sasha Banks, who has just dethroned Charlotte in an amazing match that's all but stolen the show. Then, as Ronda is about to exit stage right, a familiar face pops up... It's Paul Heyman! "Miss Rousey!" beams Paul E. "Congratulations on your win tonight. I think we have a lot to talk about". And so, Ronda and Paul (who'll appear later that night with Brock, don't worry) head off together, and the WWE Universe is left to speculate on what comes next. *Renamed by Charlotte midway through her reign, as explained right here. You're welcome!
