WWE: 10 Superstar Gimmicks That Are Total Rip Offs

1. Ryback

Ryberg

Original Gimmick: Goldberg When your gimmick is such a rip off that you are having a previous wrestler€™s name chanted towards you at each arena you attend, you know subtlety isn't your strongest trait. Ryback is a bit unfortunate in that his appearance resembles Goldberg, but there are ways to edit that. It looks like the €˜feed me more€™ wrestler has rushed into a fancy dress shop and asked for the €˜Bill Goldberg€™ costume, leaving with everything but the black pants; perhaps next time he should come out dressed as Spiderman, at least with a mask it is easier to pretend. Away from his appearance and over to his gimmick; Ryback entered the WWE as an unstoppable one-man wrecking machine, whose character was based around an impressive winning streak; Goldberg started life in WCW with one hundred and seventy three consecutive victories. It can only be assumed that McMahon was so sadden by Goldberg€™s short stay within the company that he thought he should make a clone. The company seemed to hesitate on Ryback€™s big push and his winning streak was eventually broken by CM Punk after just thirty eight matches. Perhaps, Vince was put off by the constant €˜Goldberg€™ chants? Conclusion: if you're going to copy another wrestler€™s gimmick, don't choose the biggest star WCW ever produced because fans will remember.
