6. Elijah Burke
Elijah Burke was signed to WWE in 2004, but spent 2 years in development. With the revival of ECW and the need for an influx of talent, he found himself called up to the main roster in 2006. A little known fact about Elijah Burke is that he could have been a part of the infamous "Spirit Squad", but turned the offer down. In hindsight, that decision was probably for the best. Could you have imagined his talent wasted as the forgotten partner to Dolph Ziggler before he grew into a success? Instead, Elijah Burke is forgotten about in his own way. He competed for a chance at the ECW title several times, and even had a short lived feud with Batista. Unfortunately, he's probably best remembered for being the last person to wrestle Chris Benoit in a televised match before his death. Thankfully for Burke, he gained some recognition in TNA. He'd probably be best remembered for his run as "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero. While he never won a major title with the company, he had some high-profile feuds with TNA talents such as AJ Styles, who he defeated in a non-title match while Styles was champion. His contract expired in January, and he left the company of his own accord. Today, not much is heard about Elijah Burke. He has a Twitter account
@DaBlackPope, and a
YouTube show called "Pope TV". Hopefully, we'll someday see him back on television.
