WWE: 10 Superstars Who Really Were The Total Package

8. Kurt Angle

Having arrived in the WWE with an Olympic gold medal in freestyle wrestling, there was never going to be any question about Kurt Angle's technical proficiency. But there was so much more to Angle than grappling and suplexes. He established himself as a classic heel through his ironic "American Hero" gimmick, before creating that wonderfully innocent, milk-drinking nerd persona that provided us with some truly memorable moments. A thrilling program with Brock Lesnar followed, highlighted by their epic WrestleMania XIX clash that Angle came out of victorious, as well as some fantastic feuds with the likes of Eddie Guerrero, Shawn Michaels, Rey Mysterio and Randy Orton. Ultimately he left the company in 2006 feeling "beat up and run down", though he still had a number of years left in the tank. If he'd remained with the company, who knows what dizzying heights the Olympic Gold medallist could have gone on to achieve. For the time being though, he'll have to settle for being a Grand Slam champion with six world titles to his name €“ not to mention the King of the Ring trophy from the year 2000. It's an impressive haul for eight years work, and one that is totally deserved for a man of Angle's talent.
