WWE: 10 Superstars Who Really Were The Total Package

7. Steve Austin

Steve Austin almost makes it onto this list based on nothing more than popularity. After his infamous "Austin 3:16" promo of 1996, Stone Cold went on to become the ultimate anti-authority figure. Over the next few years he was involved in arguably the greatest feud of all time against Mr. McMahon, with which he helped define the Attitude era and re-establish the WWE as the dominant wrestling promotion. But Austin's talents weren't limited to beer-drinking and mudhole stomping. In his earlier days, first as Stunning Steve Austin and then as the Ringmaster, his in-ring style was a lot more refined than he often gets credit for. Much like Angle, his time with the company was cut short somewhat prematurely €“ though in very different circumstances. Despite the controversy surrounding his departure though, he always gets a pop when crowds hear that familiar sound of shattering glass. It's that kind of a response that shows how great an entertainer the Texas Rattlesnake really was.
