WWE: 10 Superstars That Prove Wrestling Really Is A Travelling Circus
8. Ariel - Shelly Martinez
Ariel came to WWE in 2006 and was instantly one of the most original and memorable Divas in the company's long history, playing up the gimmick of ECW's cryptic and seductive tarot-reading Exhibitionist. After being paired up with Kevin Thorn, her character became even more interesting as she embraced a darker side to her personality, becoming Thorn's personal succubus (this was WWE's wording, "succubus" and "vampiress" are not mutually exclusive, and Ariel was definitely more of a vampiress). If wrestling were truly a circus, Ariel would fit right in as the beautiful, but deadly, fortune-teller warning of danger while relishing the fact that you wouldn't heed her warning and would suffer a terrible fate. After Ariel was released from WWE (and after a brief stint as Salinas in TNA), she began to compete under her real name of Shelly Martinez on the indie scene, maintaining a majority of her gothic and spooky character traits from her ECW days (this delicious morsel has been known to make an entrance covered in fake blood set to the sound of Living Dead Girl by Rob Zombie). "Spooky Chick" Honorable Mention: Winter, Roxxi Laveaux, indie wrestler Marriah Moreno.
