WWE: 10 Superstars You Will Be Surprised Are 10 Year Company Veterans
10. Ryback
Believe it or not, the awkward and plodding performances of Ryan Reeves have been going on in WWE rings for 10 years now. The man most famously known as Ryback first debuted in WWE during 2004 on Smackdown. He was part of Tough Enough which took place on the broadcast, referring to himself as "the silverback". Although he didn't win the Tough Enough contest, he stood out to WWE officials who were impressed by his size. No doubt about it, Reeves had 'the look', way more than eventual winner Daniel Puder ever did. As a result of his promising performances on Tough Enough, the WWE put Reeves on a developmental contract. He spent time competing in the WWE feeder league, Ohio Valley Wrestling, for the next four years (minus a brief time out). The WWE then signed Reeves to their Florida Championship Wrestling territory in 2008, and the big man teamed with another giant star named Sheamus. Both men were destined for bigger things. Reeves ended up back on WWE television as part of the Nexus storyline in 2010. Under the name of Skip Sheffield the star stood out again for his look, but it wasn't until 2012 when the company repacked him as Ryback that fans really took notice. The babyface star was fed a string of jobbers who he squashed in minutes, and pretty soon he was one of the most over acts on the roster. Loud chants of "FEED ME MORE" followed Ryback everywhere as he main evented a series of PPVs with CM Punk for the WWE title. Unfortunately, the success ends there. Ryback has been on the pay roll for ten years but didn't make any real impact until 2012 because of his in-ring limitations and that's exactly why WWE cut short his 2012 push and turned him into a novelty act in 2013. The guy just couldn't be relied upon as a sound wrestling talent. Reeves has somehow been taking Vince McMahon's money for ten years but he looks in real danger of not lasting another year with the company.
