WWE: 10 Things That Must Happen Before 2014 Ends

6. The Ascension Must Be Called Up To The Main Roster

WWE.comWWE.comLate last year, WWE's tag team division was reaching heights never before reached. Cody Rhodes and Goldust, The Shield and The Usos were only a few of the tandems that were redefining tag team wrestling and making it feel relevant again. However, with so many teams breaking up in recent months, the division isn't as strong as it once was. It's in need of some fresh faces and The Ascension fit the bill to perfection. The Ascension arrived on NXT when the developmental territory was first revamped in 2012. Connor O'Brian and Kenneth Cameron had awesome chemistry together and had a good thing going, but Cameron's WWE release in late 2012 halted any momentum they had. O'Brian has since reformed The Ascension with Rick Victor as the two are the current reigning NXT Tag Team Champions. The issue is that they have had no strong competition as of late in NXT, so what left do they have to prove there? They have been working house shows with the Raw and SmackDown Superstars for several months and have proven they are ready for the main roster. That and the fact no avid viewer of NXT can bare to see them face yet another tandem compromised of local athletes. Whether their act can get over on worldwide television remains to be seen, but they'd surely spice up the WWE tag team division in a feud with The Usos.
