WWE: 10 Things That Must Happen Before 2014 Ends

7. The Prime Time Players Must Reunite

wwe.comwwe.comAfter a feuding with each other on NXT: Redemption, Darren Young and Titus O'Neil put their differences aside and formed a tag team in early 2012. They jumped ship to SmackDown a few months later and took the blue brand by storm, calling themselves The Prime Time Players. They contended for the WWE Tag Team Championships on various occasions, but always came up short. Although they were never able to capture the gold, they had a very entertaining two year run. Out of nowhere, O'Neil turned on Young on the January 31 SmackDown, effectively ending The Prime Time Players. The two engaged in a feud in subsequent weeks, leading to a match at Elimination Chamber which was won by O'Neil. Once the rivalry concluded, both Superstars faded into obscurity. Young is currently out with an injury and O'Neil is a regular on the WWE Superstars program. Not only did their split not have any prior build at all, Creative didn't do anything with either guy coming out of it. Usually WWE will break up a tag team or stable if they have plans for one or both of the competitors, but that hasn't been the case with either Young or O'Neil. O'Neil has a tremendous amount of potential, but WWE has failed to capitalize on his heel turn and his talent has gone to waste. While Young may not be world championship caliber, he is a good hand in the ring as well and it's a shame WWE didn't push him more coming off of all the positive press he received from mainstream media last summer. With the tag team division currently in a state of disarray, there's no reason why O'Neil and Young shouldn't reunite. As previously noted, Young is sidelined with an injury at the moment and isn't due back for another few months, but upon his return he should make amends with his former friend. Both Superstars are capable of being successful singles stars, but with WWE failing to do anything of note with them since their split, it's only logical for them to back to the drawing board and resurrect The Prime Time Players.
