There is no way CM Punk would walk from this one Stone Cold Steve Austin vs CM Punk. It's long been discussed as a dream match, with the two friends keen on one day doing it. Austin's health issues and lack of a WWE effort have so far stopped it from happening, but if Vince was to really try for it I think he could make it happen. It could be at Wrestlemania 31 and part of Punk's new contract. Austin would be fine in a safely executed match and Punk happens to be one of the best workers ever. He could get Steve through it. Despite his injury, The Rattlesnake is still in good shape and could undoubtedly go as long as he wanted if he avoided big bumps. The biggest thing stopping this happening could in fact be money, to which I would say get the cheque book out Vince Austin in a one-off match is worth more than Rock or Brock. One mega pay pack and I think Austin would do it with Punk. The WWE bizarrely tried to get Austin to wrestle at Wrestlemania 30 with Triple H, which suggests a deal is at least possible. So I would say go back and put it together for Punk. You would get a huge return on board and also reignite Punk's passion for the business. Simply put, you don't walk away from the biggest name ever returning after 11 years out to give you his last ever match. Punk vs Austin would be the ultimate way to get things back on track for the WWE. Beer drinking face vs Sober Righteous heel ... oh hell yeah, I smell money.
