WWE: 10 Things Vince McMahon Could Do To Get CM Punk Back
9. Part Time Contract
A big factor in Punk walking away is thought to be burnout. It's been noted how knackered the star always appears, with visible red bags under his eyes. This is in stark contrast to the fresh faced-man who emerged in 2008. Nagging injuries are also catching up with Punk, at a time when he just wants to chill out a bit and enjoy his other passions. Punk is a passionate NHL and MMA fan. He has made enough money to not need the WWE anymore the guy could just want his life back to reap the fruits of his labour. Vince McMahon should perhaps allow Punk to walk away from full-time wrestling. It isn't good for either party if Punk is burned out. Instead Vince should draft a part time deal up to present Punk. It works for both sides Punk can work dates similar to Brock Lesnar (although he wouldn't get the same level of pay, but still a respectable figure I imagine). The advantage to WWE would be that they have a fresh star they can call upon to work pay-per-views that need a bit of a lift. Sometimes less is more when it comes to exposure, and a rarely-appearing Punk could in fact be more valuable than a full-time Punk. Special attractions work, and the trend in the last few years of part timers illustrates this. Ironically, Punk has been critical of part time returns in the past, but if he was to become one himself it makes perfect sense.
