WWE: 10 Times The Fans Completely Rejected What They Were Seeing

2. Booker T vs. Buff Bagwell at Raw July 2, 2001

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=km9PPOs2_I8 The match that main evented the July 2, 2001 edition of Raw was very forgettable as Booker T. (the five time WCW Champion at that point) wrestled Buff Bagwell in a WCW main event. It was part of the Invasion storyline. I think if WWE could go back to that match now they would have picked somebody other than Bagwell because it was the only time he was ever in a WWE ring. His performance was that bad. Booker T, on the other hand, was a WWE regular for nearly another decade and then in 2013 he became a WWE Hall of Famer. Bagwell was awful, though. It was as if he was going at half speed or maybe he just wasn't very good. It was not a long match. It didn't even go ten minutes, but you could hear the crowd wasn't interested in what they were doing. Then Steve Austin and Kurt Angle went into the ring, beat up both guys and literally threw them out of the building to end the show. It's just a shame that they chose a bad match like this one because if it was something better then the fans in Tacoma could have been more accepting of the idea that WCW could main event on a WWE show. If you're a wrestler, hopefully you never "pull a Buff Bagwell" by having only one match in a WWE ring and then never coming back.
