WWE: 10 Times The Fans Completely Rejected What They Were Seeing

3. Mickie James vs. Trish Stratus at WrestleMania 22

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IzdLwowyko Some guys like the crazy chick. We can't help it. There's something about them that draws us in to the point that we want to see them and find out what they might do next. There's a lot of appeal in that unpredictability. It's why nearly 8 years after the match took place, Mickie James vs. Trish Stratus at WrestleMania 22 in Chicago is arguably the most memorable women's match in WWE history. There was a point in the match where Mickie did a move where she slammed Trish's leg into the mat and then Mickie unleashed this huge yell outside the ring. The crowd exploded for it. They loved her even though she was this crazy heel that was obsessed with their favorite diva Trish. That's when it was obvious that she had won that crowd over. When Mickie won the Women's Title, there were mostly cheers. There might have been some boos, but you couldn't really hear them. It's a rare match where a heel was getting cheered for the majority of it and they ended up on the winning end too. Usually WrestleMania is about the babyfaces going over. Not this time. Then again, if you listened to the crowd it sure sounded like the babyface did go over. Within a few months, Mickie was a full fledged babyface in WWE and she was a babyface until her departure in 2010. The story building up to it was great, but the crowd reaction that night made it that much more memorable and showed they didn't want to boo her. They liked her too much.
