6. Shawn Michaels vs. The British Bulldog at One Night Only (UK) October 1997
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cz21MSHI-4 This was a UK only PPV that took place in Birmingham, England on September 20, 1997. The main event of the show was the British Bulldog (hero to the fans in England obviously) defending the European Title against Shawn Michaels. Even though Michaels was considered a top guy that would main event Survivor Series 1997 less than two months later, it made sense for Bulldog to end the show with a win in front of the fans. Fans pelted the ring with garbage. Some of these fans were slapping Michaels' hands on his way down to the ring because they were so happy to see him there. By the end of the match, they absolutely hated him. The backstage story to this match is that the British Bulldog was actually supposed to win the match, but Michaels demanded that it be changed as a way to stick it to Bret Hart, who was his rival at the time and his opponent at Survivor Series 1997. There was no reason for Michaels to win the European Title. He didn't even defend it. They had him lose it in a joke of a match to Triple H, which ultimately ended up hurting Bulldog because if he kept the title it would have been better for him.
