WWE: 10 Triple H Feuds That Totally Sucked

8. Booker T In 2003

When Triple H was awarded the World Title by Eric Bischoff in September of 2002 it was done because WWE realized that having one major champion on both shows wasn't going to work out. They needed to have a champion on each show to give the wrestlers on both brands something to fight for. Not surprisingly, Hunter was positioned as the top heel on the Raw brand that got to hold the WWE Title. Leading up to WrestleMania 19, Booker T was really gaining momentum as one of the top babyfaces on Raw. He had been in major feuds two years earlier in WWE although that was mostly as a heel. Being able to connect as a babyface was a great thing for him and made people think he could be the top guy on Raw. In the build to Hunter vs. Booker at WM19, Hunter made some borderline racist comments by saying €œpeople like Booker€ couldn't beat him. While he didn't specify what he meant exactly, it was definitely something that raised eyebrows. Hunter also talked about Booker's criminal past as a way to bring him down. Usually if a guy does that it means that the face will get his revenge on the big stage, but it didn't happen. A lot of fans hated the feud because they didn't pay it off with a strong ending. Perhaps WWE felt like Hunter should keep the World Title since he had a feud later in the year against Goldberg, but was it really worth it considering the damage that it did to Booker? It did more harm than good.
