This is the one I want to see. It more closely retains the Alberto Del Rio that WWE has built to today, yet it breathes fresh life into a stale gimmick. There was a Monday Night Raw or two where Alberto Del Rio was seen flirting with WWE Diva Rosa Mendes. For those shorts moments, the Alberto Del Rio character was more interesting than it had been since it's inception. The easiest way to push a wrestler who has trouble connecting with the audience is to stick them with a charismatic manager or valet. Why WWE didn't go ahead and further develop the relationship between Alberto Del Rio and Rosa Mendes speaks to the incompleteness of the Alberto Del Rio character (and honestly the shoddy booking throughout WWE). Rosa Mendes would hands down give Alberto Del Rio new life. Rosa, herself, has been pro wrestling gimmick purgatory for years now. Here's how you can save two floundering superstars. Imagine this: put Alberto Del Rio and Rosa Mendes together as WWE's King and Queen of Versailles. No silly bickering between the two, no cheating boyfriend and the poor innocent face angle, no gold digger girlfriend with the lovesick face boyfriend - none of that. A working class hating, fur coat wearing, pompous "one percent" husband and wife power couple would easily rocket each of them respectfully to the top heel level in each of their divisions. Book it.
