9. Fake Diesel And Fake Razor
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C05BCLPIn54 Hulk Hogan's signing with WCW in June 1994 had been the first major purchase Ted Turner was to make since aquiring the brand. Although Hogan had left the WWE for Japan before any indication of his arrival in WCW, the move was closely watched by other big name superstars, who feared that their age and veteran status in the WWE would mean a swift replacement for the younger emerging wrestlers. A number of big name departures occurred in the mid 90s, two of these being Kevin Nash and Scott Hall, whose in ring persona's of Razor Ramon and Kevin Nash were extremely popular with fans. When these wrestlers left the WWE took the unusual steps of attempting to simply replace the individuals responsible for the roles and continuing on the "copyrighted element" of their character. Rick Bognar was introduced, and billed, as Razor Ramon while Glen Jacobs (who would go on to play a much more important gimmick in WWE history) portrayed Diesel. The idea proved majorly unpopular (fans consistently booed the duo) and was dropped almost immediately, despite some moderate success in the pair receiving a WWF Tag Team Championship match against Owen Hart and the British Bulldog at In Your House 12: It's Time. The last major appearance from the "fakers" occurred during the 1997 Royal Rumble match, by which point the matter had worn thin and both were gradually phased out.
