6. Tommy Dreamer's Time In WWE
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rx19_zdb9QA You might think I'm wrong to include a wrestler like Tommy Dreamer in a list of 'worst gimmicks' but that is, sadly, what the WWE does to wrestlers like Dreamer. Dreamer was seen as a living legend, being a former ECW Champion, he was also one of the only long standing big name talents to have crossed over to WWE immediately following the collapse of ECW. Even though wrestlers like Sabu and The Sandman would make appearances on WWE television in the years to come, Dreamer was one of the few to be among the first ECW talent to debut on July 9th 2001. Dreamer began appearing on programmes like Heat and Velocity during this time, getting involved in little of the actual main event wrestling, but instead "jobbing" and taking falls to lowly established and mid card wrestlers. Despite this having something to do with his background (Dreamer got into ECW as a jobber who could apparently withstand any pain) you'd be mistaken for thinking Dreamer was anything but the fall guy, with commenators during this period rarely mentioning anything about why this was happening. The WWE had inherited a living legend and had almost nothing to do for him. When the Invasion angle ended in November 2001, Dreamer was sent to the WWF's "farm territory" Heartland Wrestling Association, in order to both work on his own skills and help train a future generation of performers. He would later return to the WWE but would, once again, be mistreated and forced to share a toothbrush with a dog and eat food off the floor. Living the dream!
