7. The Right To Censor
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xy1VZ4CwiZk Used as a parody of the Parent's Television Council (or PTC) the Right to Censor (or RTC) was founded by Steven Richards, who would show up on television removing the hardcore objects from matches and censoring nudity, in the same vein as the PTC who were threatening to boycott the WWE's sponsors off screen because of what they referred too as the excess of sex, language and violence portrayed. Unfortunately their popularity with fans was, well, non-exsistant as the group had chosen some of the most popular gimmick wrestlers (like The Godfather and Val Venis) to stop their sexualised routines and instead dress more like mormon preachers. It didn't help matters that the RTC were rather successful too, with consistent results for the group (who, at it's height, numbered 6) and even a Women's Championship and a Tag Team Championship in their collection. The problem with the faction was that they stood for everything the WWE didn't, although popular enough with the wrestlers themselves (Val Venis even personally requested to join RTC behind the scenes because he wanted to show more ability on his wrestling as a heel) the stable faced constant backlash from fans who just objected to their entire personna. The RTC eventually found themselves defeated, their former members returned to their original routines, before themselves fading out due to the Invasion angles and the limitation of time available for mid card wrestlers. As fate would have it, Steven Richards would blame The Undertaker on TV for the breakup of RTC, which in itself led to the debut of KroniK - and we all know how that turned out.
