http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BXFVvUGkDw Surely the most disappointing WrestleMania match in history, but is it the worst? No. Likely to be higher in many people's books, this 'contest' goes down as a smear in both men's careers due to their complete nonchalance and phoning it in on their last WWE match. Neither man wanted to be there. Goldberg's contract was coming to an end and Lesnar, the man who WWE had singled out the past two years as the poster boy to carry the company forward, was leaving for the NFL. The Madison Square Garden crowd got wind of this through internet speculation and boy, did they let Lesnar know about their new animosity towards him. To WWE's credit, the build for this inter-promotional match had been well done; dating back to a backstage tease at Survivor Series. Billed as one of the top matches on this historic card, nearly everyone was intrigued by a battle between the two dominant powerhouses - perhaps the pound-for-pound two strongest men the company have ever had in their acquisition. It had all the makings of an unmissable, potential classic affair. That is until the bell rang. Instead of exploding out the blocks, proving themselves to be the alpha male, both men..did nothing. It took 3 whole minutes of staring (the inspiration for Twilight perhaps?) before they finally locked up. The latter half to the encounter wasn't so bad, if a little formulaic in the trading of big impact moves but by this point the crowd had seen enough and there was no rescuing this one. The match has probably become most famous for its intense crowd reaction; opening chants of "you sold out" and boos for both men quickly turned to "this match sucks" and "boorring". Special referee Stone Cold Steve Austin could do little to spark the affair, but got the last laugh to the crowd's delight with Stunners to both men. Oh hell yeah.
