2. Evan Bourne
As a darling of the independent wrestling scene, Matt Sydal made a name for himself by wrestling fast-paced, high flying matches all around the country with workers such as CM Punk, Chris Sabin, and Kevin Steen. He was also a fixture on TNA's early pay-per-view offerings, working as a jobber in their X Division. After competing in the short-lived MTV Wrestling Society X, Sydal was signed to a WWE contract and hoped for his career to take off. After being renamed Evan Bourne, he quickly made his debut on ECW and got over with the fans due to his offense which was capped off by his awesome Shooting Star Press finisher. Bourne was seemingly given a big push when John Cena chose him as a tag partner in a match against Edge and Sheamus. Bourne even got the pin for his team and the announcers seemed to imply that Evan was ready for bigger and better things. Unfortunately, those "bigger and better things" meant being stuck in a tag team with Kofi Kingston after Kingston suffered his own main event push that was abruptly halted for unknown reasons. Soon after, Bourne was suspended for 60 days due to his second violation of WWE's Wellness Policy. In March 2012, he was involved in a car accident that broke his foot and put him on the shelf for a year. Bourne has yet to return to television and it's not hard to imagine him being released soon.
