WWE: 11 Biggest Mistakes Creative Made In 2013

9. Repetitive Concepts

A wide ranging creative mistake is too much repetition. The law of diminishing returns is one that Vince McMahon really needs to pay attention too - there is so much of his product that he has done a thousand times over, the end result being a complete loss of meaning and significance. The recent Cena and Orton TLC contract signing was a prime example. How often have we seen this exact same angle? Wrestlers talk trash over a table, sign contracts, one of them goes through a table. It is so boringly formulaic. It is done throughout the WWE product, we essentially have the exact same storylines that we have always had, albeit with slightly different characters. Another example is the heel boss concept, it has been getting run for over fifteen years now - it is about time creative came up with something new. The lesson needs to be taken throughout the business. Even things like the Elimination Chamber or Hell In A Cell pay per view ... by having the same gimmick match repeated on the same card it dilutes the meaning of one special match. WWE needs to start thinking through creative decisions more logically and add an air of freshness to its execution of ideas.
