WWE: 11 Loudest Crowd Reactions In WCW History

10. Bret Hart Uses Steel Plate Against Goldberg In Toronto (March 29, 1999)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDOJdsABsVI There were not that many great moments for Bret Hart in WCW and he would be one of the first people to admit that. He's written about it in his book too. His run in WCW wasn't great, but this was one of those memorable moments. Hart was in an angry mood as Nitro aired from Toronto with the crowd chanting along with everything he was saying. He called out Bill Goldberg. Then he unveiled a Tie Domi jersey for the Toronto Maple Leafs. The crowd really loved that. When Goldberg showed up, he took down Hart with a Spear. Hart was out on the mat, but Goldberg was down too. Huh? That was weird. Hart ended up getting back up first, then covered Goldberg and counted a pinfall. Hart took off his hockey jersey and revealed a steel plate he was wearing on his chest. That's when the arena really exploded. Then Hart said he quit. People cheered that too. It was all part of an angle, but it was also an example of WCW's problems at the time. It would have been nice if WCW followed up on this angle with a feud between Hart and Goldberg, but in typical WCW fashion they dropped the ball. It's what they always did. I admit that I may be biased towards this one as a Canadian that's a huge Bret Hart fan, but I can't help it. I hated myself for not going to the event. It was a moment we were all talking about.
