Legendary Japanese performer, one of the globally celebrated best in-ring workers ever, Mitsuharu Misawa, died in hospital on June 13th 2009 aged 46. Just a short while before being pronounced dead at hospital, Misawa had been competing in the ring for the GHC tag team championship. He lost consciousness shortly after taking a belly to back suplex. The cause of death was never officially revealed, but was speculated as being a cardiac arrest brought on from a cervical spinal cord injury. Misawa didn't die straight away, but if the ambulance hadn't been ready, he would have died there and then in the ring that night. As it happened, he held on to life, but later died in the hospital. There was nothing anyone could do for Misawa that night, a sad case of a great wrestler being unable to move on from his life in the ring.
