WWE: 12 Most Controversial WrestleMania Moments Ever

7. 'Taker Is Almost Beaten By An Entirely Unworthy Opponent - Wrestlemania IX

The WrestleMania IX match between 'Taker and the former Argentinian basketball player is not only the ugliest of all of the Dead Man's streak victories, it also has to be considered one of the most underwhelming matches in the history of the main event. In April 1993, 'Taker faced off against monster Giant Gonzalez at Caesar's Palace, and suffered a genuine threat of defeat thanks to his opponent's ridiculous hulking size. The fight wasn't pretty at all, with Gonzalez too large to be really mobile, though that didn't stop the creative angle being that he was to out-muscle 'Taker, despite not being able to carry off even the simplest of moves. 'Taker struggled to pull a good match out of his opponent, and it ended in ridiculous fashion with Gonzalez resorting to chloroform, before 'Taker's inevitably revival, and the giant's disqualification. Considering the manner of the rest of 'Taker's victories, and the prestige of the streak, this blemish looks more and more like a gigantic misstep as each year passes.
