WWE: 12 Most Controversial WrestleMania Moments Ever

5. Floyd Mayweather Fights Dirty - WrestleMania XXIV

When the WWE set up the fight between Big Show and boxing champion Floyd Mayweather, few could have expected that the diminutive fighter would actually follow in the footsteps of Mike Tyson and apepar at the main event, but he duly shocked when he turned up for his fight. Mayweather had been involved in a storyline beef with Big Show after the boxer interrupted an altercation between Big Show and Rey Mysterio at No Way Out to help the little man out. As the admittedly unpopular babyface, MAyweather attacked Big Show, and unwittingly broke his nose after failing to pull a punch, and running away comically in fear. In the aftermath on Raw, Big Show challenged Mayweather to a one-on-one No Disqualification match at WrestleMania XXIV, which he accepted, and not only did the boxer shock everyone by turning up, he also unthinkably won the match by knocking his opponent out with a set of brass knuckles. Typically classy, Mayweather claims he was paid $20m for his appearance, though that has subsequently been proven as a falacy.
