WWE: 12 Criminal Gimmicks That Should Have Lead To Jail Time

12. Big Boss Man "Steals" A Corpse

Crime: Body-snatching. Like some sort of 19th Century grave robber - or Big Jim Kennally trying to steal Abe Lincoln's mortal remains - at the height of his immoral powers, Big Boss Man started a feud with Big Show that culminated in the former stealing the dead father of the latter. Very much not a storyline for the PG Era. The storyline involved Show's father (who was actually already dead - proving that the company isn't scared of crossing the line of common decency in the name of entertainment) dying of terminal illness, and Big Boss Man generally mocking his rival's reaction, including reciting an offensive poem over the ten-bell toll and ultimately invading the funeral in the Blue Brothers Bluesmobile and making off with the star of the show. And this was far from the worst behaviour Big Boss Man committed in the name of sports entertainment either... Punishment: When Kennally's gang tried to ransom Honest Abe's body, the convicted members went down for a couple of years, and the most notorious modern example saw the kidnappers of Gladys Hammond's remains being sentenced to 12 years.
