WWE: 12 Dumb Superstar Name Changes That Made No Sense

3. Sid Vicious To Sid Justice

Taking his name from the bassist of the punk rock group the Sex Pistols, Sid Vicious debuted in World Championship Wrestling in 1989 and enjoyed almost immediate success. Thanks to a killer powerbomb finisher and a great look, Vicious feuded with the Steiner Brothers and Road Warriors. He then joined the legendary Four Horsemen stable and seemed poised for a main event run when the WWF came calling. In 1991, Sid debuted for the World Wrestling Federation under the name Sid Justice as a babyface and the special guest referee for the main event of Summerslam. Why the name change from Vicious to Justice? Did Vince McMahon really think that Sid wouldn't get over as a babyface if his last name was Vicious? Only 8 months later, Sid Justice turned heel on Hulk Hogan, thus negating the Vicious-to-Justice name change.
