WWE: 12 Dumb Superstar Name Changes That Made No Sense
2. The Giant To The Big Show
Paul Wight has been a staple in professional wrestling for almost 20 years now, starting with WCW as the Giant and debuting with the World Wrestling Federation in 1999 as...the Big Show? I understand that World Championship Wrestling probably held the trademark on "The Giant" but was "Big Show" the best that WWF writers could come up with? Since he's been around so long, the name Big Show doesn't sound dumb or ridiculous but, at the time, that's exactly what it sounded like. Internet fans knew that Wight was going to debut for Vince McMahon's company and the rumors swirled that he would be known as Big Titan (after Titan Towers, the WWF headquarters). It's not known who made the change from Titan to Show but it definitely wasn't for the better.
