H is for Hell in a Cell
The era defining Hell in the Cell was introduced by THQ in one of their early Smackdown games. As a fan and a player it was a unique and exciting opportunity to step inside the playground of this devastating architecture that has broken many a superstar's body of the years. The boundaries which had been pushed for so long on our TV screens, with WWE taking Pro Wrestling into even deeper depths and offering this chaotic spectacle, finally we were able to divulge in the madness. In the cage, on the cage, through the cage and off the cage, players spent hours seeing how much they could manipulate the scenery and cause virtual suffering to their foe. This lavish structure has since been included with every new game, allowing fans to relive their fantasy, year after year. Once again we can recreate the incredible encounter of the Undertaker vs Mankind... or Shawn Michaels... or Triple H... or Big Boss Man... Okay, maybe not that last one. Will WWE 13 contain a mode where you are forced to throw Mankind off the side of the cell and into the announcer's table with Jim Ross screaming "Good God Almighty, they've killed him. God is my witness, he is broken in half". Let's hope so.
I is for Iron Mike Tyson
Tyson! Tyson! Tyson! Jim Ross's voice still echoes through every fans mind to this day, after catching Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 14 with his devastating fist, knocking him to the canvas as Ross screamed out as the world watched on, shocked and eagerly impressed. Tyson, who was inducted into the celebrity wing of the WWE Hall of Fame earlier this year, would return a few years later and allow Chris Jericho the same honour, much to the fans delight and players can now swing that right hand to their hearts content. The one question we do ask ourselves though is will Mike Tyson have any other move? Taking his in-ring career into account the only move set in which we can collaborate is a push, a punch and a badly executed crotch chop as a taunt... Questionable? Maybe. Intriguing? Definitely.
J is for Jim Ross
Jim Ross mentioned three entries running! For years Good Ol' JR was the voice of the WWE. His compelling yet informative match calling immersed the viewer into the squared circle, consistently keeping them on the edge of their seat at the height of anticipation. From the beginning of the Attitude Era through to the late noughties, Jim Ross was synonymous with WWE. Luckily for fans THQ are aware of these facts and have also accepted Jim Ross as a voice in their game, likely for the Attitude Era mode. Expect to hear many vintage JR catchphrases, especially when your stomping a mud hole and walking it dry...
K is for Kinect
THQ are yet to announce as to whether they will be utilizing Microsoft's Kinect capabilities and Sony's Move for use with WWE '13. While it seems unlikely, we can only but imagine the possibilities, players throwing themselves around the room in an attempt to pull off their extravagant move set. Bouncing from toe to toe before eagerly kicking your leg out, swivelling around with your arm curled above your shoulder and swiftly dropping on your ass... if such hardware gets utilized then it may very well come with a health warning.
