3. The Dicks

Imagine you are Tank Toland, you've been training in WWE developmental for three years, and considered a good prospect, and a good technical wrestler with a great physique; you're patiently waiting to be called up to the main roster. And then your phone rings, it's Vince McMahon, and he's got your gimmick ready for your début - he says you're going to be in a tag team called The Dicks. How your heart would have sank. The gimmick was dreadful: a pair of buff men impersonating the Chippendale exotic dancers come to the ring, oiling themselves up, and rubbing their abs. They would then steal victories by blinding their opponents with their baby oil, not that they got many victories. The team was very short lived, and both wrestlers were released after less than 6 months on the main roster. Somebody within WWE management has an incredibly infantile sense of humour, and the assumption from fans is that it's probably Vince McMahon. The Dicks is such an obvious sexual reference it is not funny, clever, or even shocking - in fact it's childish in the worst sense of the word. The other major issue is that the Chippendale's whole show is based around the fact they are muscular men who wear very little clothing, which is hardly a unique feature in wrestling. The Dicks brief appearance was an embarrassing chapter in the WWE, and one that they tried quickly to forget.
