WWE: 14 Greatest Ever Moments When Superstars Got Revenge

4. Mick Foley Finally Fights Randy Orton

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9DOGq2VWQM In June of 2003 the WWE honoured retired legend Mick Foley's career on Raw live from Madison Square Garden, even presenting him with the Hardcore Championship belt. His night would not end well though as later on backstage he would be attacked and kicked down a stairwell by Randy Orton who at the time had dubbed himself 'The Legend Killer'. Towards the end of the year Foley, now Raw co-General Manager, was scheduled for a match with Orton to seek revenge. But during his entrance he decided to turn back and leave instead of fight. Before he could leave the arena he was confronted backstage by Orton who spat in his face. This would be last time Foley would be seen on WWE television for a month. During the month Orton continued to run down Foley on Raw and proclaimed himself the new 'Hardcore Legend'. This led to the episode of Raw hailing from Foley's hometown of Long Island, New York. Orton had reserved a front-row seat for Foley and a limousine was sent to the Foley house to bring him to Raw. Foley would not show up and was subsequently labelled a coward, even by Jim Ross. At the Royal Rumble 2004 Orton would begin the match as the number two entrant and was going strong up until entrant number 21. This was supposed to be Test, but he was found knocked out backstage, and instead Mick Foley made his triumphant return to get revenge for the actions of the egotistical Intercontinental Champion. But Foley wasn't finished there as the two continued to brawl around ringside before Orton escaped.
