12. Evolution vs The Rock 'n' Sock Connection (WrestleMania XX)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHsLglXvDxA Allow me to briefly list the history that occurred within this one match: it was Randy Orton and Batista's Wrestlemania debuts; it was the last, in-ring, appearance for Dwayne Johnson in 8 years; it was the last time The Rock and Mick Foley- one of the most entertaining and highest profile tag-teams of all time- would team together in the ring; it was the last (and only the second ever) time The Rock and Ric Flair would square off across the ring and, as Flair himself put it: "Man, we stole it. You sh**tin' me? There aint nobody gonna follow that!" This match stands as a rare fulcrum point amidst two separate eras- the past Attitude Era of the Rock and Foley and the future PG era of Orton and Batista that was just about to be phased in. In addition, the gimmick of Evolution itself and the fact that Orton, who would later that same year go on to become the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in WWE history, went over on Foley added to a historic bout with a pitch-perfect storyline. The match itself was also great and well worked- that was no surprise to anyone. The only surprise regarding this match is that it went on so early in the card.
