WWE: 15 Reasons The Undertaker Streak Ended At WrestleMania 30

6. The Loss Accommodates The Sting Match

If you had to make a bet right now, you would wager your money on Undertaker being done with in-ring wrestling. However, one thing to come from last night, the Sting match against Undertaker at WrestleMania 31 is now far more of a doable contest. Think about it, the idea of Sting taking on the streak was plainly ridiculous. None of us would have bought into the WCW icon debuting and beating Undertaker. Now free from those constraints, WWE could promote the bout as simply Sting vs Undertaker, a far more appealing match up. By now losing, fans can buy into the idea Sting could beat Taker. It no longer matters that Taker must win, the element of drama has been re-added that Taker can lose. That's exciting. The fact that the streak is now gone means if Undertaker does want to continue, he can work a very intriguing match with Sting next year in Santa Clara. Perhaps it was the plan all along. "We don't need the streak any more, we don't need it for Sting, let's drop it this year."
