9. D-Generation X: In Your House
D-Generation X is one of the most legendary stables in wrestling history and is a big part of the WWF winning their war with WCW at the turn of the century. DX is still popular to this day and their merchandise can still be seen at WWE events all over the country, showing the mark that they have left on popular culture. However, the pay-per-view that bared their name was anything but legendary. The In Your House: D-Generation X event took place the month after the Montreal Screwjob, so to say the WWF was chaotic would be an insult to chaotic things. IYH: DX featured the finals of the WWF Light Heavyweight title tournament, with Taka Michinoku defeating Brian Christopher in the finals and capturing the title. The Light Heavyweight title was so prestigious that the man who held the belt the longest was Gillberg. The rest of the card either featured non-wrestlers (Butterbean) or retired guys who weren't offended that Vince McMahon screwed over Bret Hart (Sgt. Slaughter). The card's only saving grace was that it hosted the very first pay-per-view match between Steve Austin and the Rock. Unfortunately, it was for the Intercontinental title and the Rock wasn't the wrestling god that he would become a few years later. The main event featured new champion Shawn Michaels defending his ill-gotten title in a match against Ken Shamrock. It was Shamrock's only brush with the main event and the match was notable because Shamrock was almost screaming the spots to Shawn when he called them in the ring. It was blatantly obvious to anyone watching what Shamrock was doing and it completely took people out of the match. Needless to say, this was Shamrock's pay-per-view world title match.
