WWE 1998 PPVs From Worst To Best

2. WrestleMania XIV

The Good: Shawn Michaels fought through considerable pain to put Stone Cold Steve Austin proper in the main event. Passing the torch and doing what was right on his way out, Michaels even took a (worked) punch from Mike Tyson afterwards. He wasn't happy about it, but he did it. Kudos to him. Triple H and Owen Hart had a good, solid match, as they always did. Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie's (Terry Funk) wild dumpster match with The New Age Outlaws was unlike anything you will see in the WWE today. Taka Michinoku and Aguila (the future Essa Rios) had a high-flying spectacular which is worth checking out, if you want to see something different. The Bad: The tag team battle royal was a dud (although Sunny's LOD-inspired outfit somewhat made up for that). The Rock and Ken Shamrock's Intercontinental Title match was only allocated a disappointing four and a half minutes. Two talents of their caliber deserved more. The Rest: The Undertaker and Kane's first meeting divided fans and critics at the time. Some thought it was a slow, boring match with a ridiculous finish (it took three whole tombstone piledrivers to put Kane down) but it undoubtedly had a big match feel to it. The company built this one for months.
