WWE 1998 PPVs From Worst To Best

7. Judgement Day

The Good: There were some sterling matches on the undercard. Val Venis and Goldust finally clicked and delivered the goods. TAKA Michinoku (one of the unsung heroes of the WWF's midcard division back then) had a really enjoyable Light Heavyweight Championship match with Christian and D-Low Brown and X-Pac had something of a minor classic over the European Championship. The Bad: As fondly as a lot of fans might look back on the rivalry between The Undertaker and Kane, it must be said that they had some God-awful matches together. This one was pretty awful, too. Austin was wasted in the guest referee role and the finish was typical Russo bulls*** - with both Kane and Undertaker out cold, Austin declared himself the winner. What? In 1998 the PPVs seemed to be used as a set-up for the TV shows, which is the reverse of what you'd expect the logic to be. The Rest: Mark Henry versus The Rock and Mankind versus Ken Shamrock were both underwhelming. Although their match with The New Age Outlaws was alright here, can anyone believe how strongly The Headbangers were pushed in 1998? Madness.
