The Good: Now we're getting to the really good stuff. Backlash was a proper supershow, the show that WrestleMania could and should have been. Highlights from the undercard were Owen Hart and Jeff Jarrett's match with the ridiculously over New Age Outlaws, the stunt-filled Boiler Room Brawl match between Mankind and The Big Show and the fine X-Pac versus Triple H tussle. The show, however, was stolen once again by Messrs Austin and The Rock. Their arena-wide, McMahon-filled brawl was a different match to their 'Mania one but it was every bit as good. The Bad: The Undertaker and Ken Shamrock had a very weird match. Although it sounds good on paper, their styles just didn't mix at all. Their match, which lasted an interminable eighteen minutes, was a lot of Shamrock working The Dead Man's leg and not a lot else. Shamrock wasn't going to the main event any time soon, after this performance, and was gone a in the autumn. The Rest: Just a bunch of matches featuring the usual suspects. The match is really all about the main event and the endearingly stupid Attitude Era booking.
