WWE 1999 PPVs From Worst To Best

9. WrestleMania 15

The Good: What's WrestleMania, the biggest and most important how of the year, doing so far down the list? Well, it wasn't very good and, like the Rumble, was basically saved thanks to one really good match. The Rock was once again involved, finally clashing with Stone Cold Steve Austin. Wrestling took a back seat to the angles in 1999 and so the in-ring action wasn't really the focus. Shane McMahon versus X-Pac in a European Title match was the second best match on the show. The Bad: Oh, there was a lot of it (again). Michael Cole was atrocious on commentary and was mercifully replaced by Jim Ross for the main event. It was not like Cole had a lot to work with, mind: most of the matches were poor and the angles ludicrous. Worst of all was the Hell in a Cell debacle between The Big Bossman and The Undertaker, which ended with 'Taker and The Brood 'hanging' The Bossman from the Cell. Kane and Triple H are two very good workers, but they had an absolute clanger here. The match was basically a backdrop for the DX shenanigans. The Rest: Michael Cole gave away the result of the WWF Championship match before it happened. What a muppet. After foiling the company's Brawl for All Plans by knocking out expected winner Steve Williams, Bart Gunn was 'rewarded' with a boxing match with Butterbean, who flattened him in thirty seconds. How vindictive.
