WWE 1999 PPVs From Worst To Best

8. Armageddon

The Good: Russo left the company in October and, hey, wouldn't you know it, the quality of the shows began to improve. Funny, that. Armageddon had the right mix of storyline and in-ring action. Top of the list was the surprisingly good No Holds Barred main event between Triple H and Vince McMahon, which saw Stephanie turn heel and join the dastardly Helmsley. It was a killer angle, even if it did spell the beginning of Steph and Triple H's TV dominance. Also decent was the Chris Jericho versus Chyna IC Title match (the fans were really starting to get into Y2J), the cage match between Kane and X-Pac and the opening tag team battle royal, which proved that The Hardys were clearly stars-in-the-making. The Bad: The Big Show versus The Big Bossman (which came off the back of one of the most ludicrous angles of the year) lasted only 3.13 but that was still about two and a half minutes too long. The New Age Outlaws versus The Rock 'n Sock Connection, while decent enough, was formulaic and a little disappointing. The Rest: This was also the show were The Kat flashed her breasts to the crowd following her Evening Gown Swimming Pool match victory. WWE got into trouble with the PPV companies (and The Kat apparently got into trouble with management) for that one.
