WWE: 20 Awful Gimmicks That Were Quickly Dropped

8. William Regal "A Real Man's Man"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ci1wkgqt6g8 It's fair to say that William Regal has had a great career in professional over the past 20+ years. He accomplished a lot in both WCW and WWE as he won several titles in both promotions, had a lot of big matches and is currently working with younger wrestlers in WWE to help out the future of the company he loves so much. For British wrestling fans, he's a guy that they can point to and say that he succeeded in the American wrestling scene. It wasn't all great for Regal, though. Why? Because when WWE first brought him they called him a "Real Man's Man" William Regal. He's a maaaaaaan! Such a maaaaaan! He's a reaaaaaaal, real man's maaaaaaaaaan! That was his theme song. The character lasted only a few months in late 1998 and he was gone from WWE in early 1999 due to his drug addictions, which he was able to overcome years later. Thankfully when he returned to WWE in 2000 he was able to find a role as William Regal without being a real man's man. It was an awful gimmick that was a bad idea to begin with, which is probably why it's so hard to find a youtube video with him in action.
