WWE: 20 Awful Gimmicks That Were Quickly Dropped

15. Fake Undertaker, Kane, Diesel & Razor Ramon

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTh2z_coNMY I decided to lump together the "fake" versions of some prominent characters because it seems ridiculous that WWE would come up with fake versions of characters they already had or used to have. They brought in Fake Undertaker in 1994. It led to a main event match at SummerSlam 1994 that the real Undertaker won in under 10 minutes. They must have known it was a bad angle since the match was pretty short and not very entertaining at all. It was an even worse idea to bring in fake Kane, who was portrayed by the guy we would come to know as Luke Gallows. His run in 2007 lasted about two months before they decided to kill the character by having the regular Kane literally throw him out a door to send him out of WWE forever. The Fake Diesel and Razor Ramon was another stupid idea that WWE did after the real Diesel and Razor Ramon (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) jumped to WCW in the spring of 1996. For some reason, WWE felt like they could put any two guys into those roles and make them successful. It was an awful idea. Who portrayed fake Diesel? Kane. There's no reason to do "fake" versions of characters. For comedic purposes I can see why they would do it, but as a regular character it's not a good idea.
