WWE: 20 Best Moments in WWE Raw History

9. Bret Goes Bananas (March 17th 1997)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxCDDlSw9-A Bret Hart was slowly evolving as a character in 1997. Having played a fan favourite for most of his WWF career, things needed to change to keep up with the Attitude Era characters of the likes of Austin and the Undertaker. In early 97, he gradually started to become a more outspoken character disgusted at what was going on around him. It all started when Austin cheated him to win the 97 Royal Rumble, and came to a head when the Undertaker cost him a cage match on Raw in March 1997. Post match, Vince McMahon in his announcer role attempted to get an interview with the Hitman. Before even saying a word, Hart shoved McMahon on his ass and then started screaming into the microphone. €œFRUSTRATED ISNT THE GOD DAMN WORD FOR IT! THIS IS BULLSHIT!€ What? The always clean cut Bret Hart swearing at his boss? Something was afoot. Vince left the ring, leaving Bret to cut a scathing promo about being screwed with so much lately. In a full on heel rant, he even went as far as to tell the crowd that if they didn€™t like it, €œtough shit,€ while JR apologized on the headset. Soon it degenerated into a brawl involving Bret, Austin, Undertaker and Sid. This segment set the stage for the incredible double turn in the match between Austin and Bret at Wrestlemania 13, and a hugely entertaining summer for Bret as part of the reformed Hart Foundation.
