WWE: 20 Best PPVs Of All Time

11. ECW One Night Stand 2006

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8E5BGW-bPCg Highlights: Rob Van Dam vs. John Cena, Mick Foley, Edge and Lita vs. Terry Funk, Tommy Dreamer and Beulah McGillicutty, Kurt Angle vs. Randy Orton. I think this is the better of the two ECW One Night Stand shows that WWE produced. There were two other One Night Stand shows, but those didn't have "ECW" in front of them. Since the show in 2005 was so good, they did another one a year later. This one happened prior to WWE re-launching the ECW brand. Due to that, they involved more WWE performers on the card while also having some ECW originals as well. Once again just like One Night Stand a year earlier, the crowd in New York's Hammerstein Ballroom was electric all night. Yes WWE, I used your word electric because that's what it was. Main event of RVD going over John Cena was one of the most memorable matches in WWE history largely due to how much the crowd hated Cena. To Cena's credit, he embraced and worked a hell of a match against RVD. In the end, ECW's favorite son RVD left with the WWE Title (thanks to Edge's interference) and that's why this show was so successful. In addition to that, the Foley/Edge/Lita vs. Funk/Dreamer/Beulah six person tag match was one of those wild bloody brawls that made ECW famous in the first. Terry Funk is a wildman. It was great that they were able to take a red hot character like Edge and put him into an ECW match like this while making it work. Plus, heel Foley was a lot of fun as well. Other matches on the show like Angle vs. Orton were not traditional matches, but the crowd absolutely hated Orton and loved Angle, so the atmosphere was great for it. Plus, who didn't love Sandman destroying Eugene? That was a lot of fun too. It's a good thing that One Night Stand lasted longer than one night because we got two of the best WWE produced PPVs ever thanks to the ECW name.
