3. Money In The Bank 2011
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JazCKp_6beo Highlights: CM Punk vs. John Cena, Money in the Bank Ladder Match won by Daniel Bryan, Money in the Bank Ladder Match won by Alberto Del Rio, Randy Orton vs. Christian It's another one of those special shows that only had six matches over the course of three hours. Money in the Bank 2011 was one of those events that wrestling fans will never forget. The build up to Money in the Bank 2011 was amazing thanks to the real life scenario involving CM Punk. After he gave one of the best promos ever in Las Vegas on Raw, it was revealed that his contract was up and if he won the WWE Title from John Cena we didn't know what that meant. They took a real situation and incorporated it into a storyline. It was brilliant on WWE's part. As for the Punk/Cena match, it's an all-time great match. It went 34 minutes. They went back and forth. The crowd was as loud as any crowd you're ever going to hear and they spent about four minutes before the match cheering as loud as possible. Then they cheered all night for everything Punk did while booing anything that Cena did. Then CM Punk won the WWE Title, left through the crowd and Vince McMahon was infuriated. The way they booked things after this match could have been much better, but for the actual match they absolutely nailed it. One of the best matches ever. Two Money in the Bank matches on the card were also great. One of them was won by Daniel Bryan. A great match that elevated a guy that people didn't think was going to win. Bryan became a huge star over the next year, then an even bigger star the year after that and even bigger today. That Money in the Bank match was his breakout moment. Alberto Del Rio won the other Money in the Bank match. That one was more predictable, but it was still entertaining like most Money in the Bank matches are. Another match on the show saw Christian beat Randy Orton for the World Title thanks to a DQ finish and a stipulation that was put in. They had better matches, but it was still above average. Mark Henry going over Big Show was also a well booked match because it was a dominant win for Henry that set him up for a World Title win a couple of months later. The Chicago crowd is one of the best ever. They were a big reason why Money in the Bank is one of the greatest PPVs ever; the workers and booking deserve credit too.
